Father of Multiple Sexual Abuse Victims Attempts to Attack Larry Nassar in Courtroom
Former USA team doctor Larry Nassar, who was recently sentenced to up 175 years for sexually abusing female athletes, was nearly attacked in court on Friday as he awaited sentencing in Eaton County, Michigan.
A video recorded by CBS News shows Randall Margraves, the father of two of Nassar’s victims, asking Judge Janice Cunningham for personal time alone with the “demon.”
“I would ask you to as part of the sentencing to grant me 5 minutes in a locked room with this demon,” Margraves aksed. After his request was denied, he begged, “Give me one minute with that bastard.”
When the judge shot down his second request, Margraves lunged across the room at Nassar. Multiple law enforcement officers rushed in and took him down before he got a chance to put hands on the “son of a bitch.”
“I want that son of a b****!” Margraves yelled as he was being detained. “Give me one minute with that bastard.”
Margraves is the father of Lauren and Madison Margraves, two young women who had spoken emotionally about how Nassar abused them just before their father addressed the court.
Nassar has pleaded guilty to 10 criminal sexual conduct charges across two Michigan counties. The violent outburst came after more two weeks of powerful statements from young women who were abused by Nassar over the past two decades. More than 150 women have spoken out about Nassar over the past two weeks. His more notable victims include Simone Biles, Gabrielle Douglas, and Aly Raisman.
